MY PASSION FOR DESIGN AND STORY TELLING HELPS PEOPLE CONNECT THRU SHAREABLE IMMERSIVE EXPERIENCES
St. Mercurius & St. Abraam Coptic Orthodox Church
This adaptive reuse two phase project will involve the lot merger of the newly acquired parcel, replacing the roof of the existing postal sorting facility, and omitting the second floor or an already existing multipurpose building.
By reusing most of the existing structure (walls and floors) we are minimizing resources and time. By enhancing the exterior façade we are giving it a completely new look and feel while honoring the Coptic Orthodox traditions which echo the past but in a modern day.
The same multipurpose building will be provided with a new roof, be completely fire sprinklered, and an addition to the rear resulting in a overall decrease in F.A.R. by 4.69% and a considerable increase in parking with an addition of 51 new spaces and 8 disabled access parking spaces from the current 18 regular spaces and 1 disabled access space resulting in enough space to satisfy the congregations parking demands per the 5 occupants per 1 space ratio.
